NanoBalkan is the Regional Center for Nanotechnology, established as a virtual hub to advance research and development in nanoscience and nanotechnology across the Balkan Peninsula and beyond. Evolving from its predecessor, NanoAlb-the Albanian Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Unit under the Academy of Sciences of Albania. The primary mission of nanoBalkan is to strengthen R&D efforts in nanoscience and nanotechnology while fostering collaboration and synergy between research groups and industry stakeholders. In addition to its research initiatives, nanoBalkan offers specialized academic programs, including master's courses focused on nanotechnology applications in healthcare (diagnostics and therapies), the pharmaceutical industry, environmental sustainability, food and agriculture, and safety and security sectors. Furthermore, nanoBalkan is dedicated to the dissemination of scientific knowledge and technological advancements to society. It actively promotes educational outreach to inspire and engage the next generation of scientists, particularly secondary school students and young learners with an interest in science and technology.
